Managing Directors Chris Illsley and Caroline Birkin and Operations Director Faye Yarwood accepted the award at the prestigious ceremony last night at the EPIC Centre, at the Lincolnshire Showground.

The Lincolnshire Bites Back Award was established this year to recognise the firm that had fought the recession most successfully, not only safeguarding jobs but developing and promoting the range, reputation and resilience of the region’s economy.

“At Running Imp, we were determined not only to stave off the effects of the economic downturn but to come through the other side even stronger”, said Managing Director Chris Illsley.

“We know the economy still faces testing times ahead, but this award recognises what has been a terrific effort throughout the last year from everyone within the Running Imp team”.

Running Imp has donated £6,000 to it's Charity of the Year, the Panathlon Foundation.

This year, Running Imp pledged to donate 1p from every stock medal sold directly to the Panathlon Foundation. 600,000 medals later, and the directors of Running Imp were able to present the charity with a cheque for £6,000.

The charity, established in 1996, focuses on delivering sporting opportunities to young disabled people all across the country.

Running Imp's donation will be used to purchase new sports equipment and help fund the organisation of a range of different sports competitions.

"We're delighted to be able to make this donation to such a terrific charity" said Chris Illsley, Managing Director at Running Imp, "The Panathlon Foundation really shows what a positive influence sport can have on people's lives. This money will go some way towards helping support the Foundation's inspiring work providing opportunities for young disabled people".
